Learning and Development Consultant

Permanent, Full-time: £negotiable

AssessTech has an opening for a Learning and Development Consultant to work in the learning and development department. We are looking to recruit an experienced trainer and assessor who also has experience working on the railway in one or more roles.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivery of Training
  • Mentorship of Candidates
  • Conducting Workplace Assessments
  • Administration of online learning systems
  • Marking of candidates work

Skills and Attributes

The following are desirable, but not essential as training can be given to a candidate that’s a good match for the role

  • Assessor Award
  • IQA (Verifier) Award
  • Learning and development qualification (e.g. PTTLS, NVQ L3 in L&D or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic IT skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets etc.)
  • Railway expereince


The position is based in the AssessTech Head Office in Guildford, however extensive UK travel will be involved as we deliver training to Train Operating Companies and other parties within the Rail Industry all over the country.


  • Base Salary: Dependent on Experience
  • 20 days Annual Leave (plus bank holidays)
  • 40 hours/week
