2022… AssessTech’s year in review

As 2022 draws to a close we wanted to highlight some of the new people, new partners and new customers we have welcomed over the last 12 months.

Some of our proudest moments of 2022:

  • Awarded the ISO27001 accreditation
  • Our biggest User Forum to date with over 100+ attendees
  • AssessTech exhibit at AusRAIL 2022 in Brisbane for the first time
  • Business growth: our office space and number of employees expand
  • We launched several new solutions including a Risk Management Solution

Lots of new members of staff joined the team during the year and Hannah, Leanne and Rob were promoted to Directors to strengthen the existing senior management team and Paul Sutherland joined our Board to help shape our strategy as we move forward.

We have delivered several excellent training courses over the past year including Network Rail Assessor Upskilling, Intel Driver, Managers and Safety Investigation and Train Dispatcher Upskilling.

AssessTech 2022 – A Year in Review

2022 showed us a fantastic start with our achievement of the ISO27001 accreditation which we passed with flying colours on our first attempt. The accreditation serves as a powerful accolade for our business and our approach to information security.

We gained two new customers in our first quarter. Grand Central Rail and Varamis Rail both chose AssessTech as their electronic competence management provider.

An update to ACMS was rolled out, providing improved navigation and tools for admins of the system.

Our second quarter of 2022 saw our new partnership with 6clicks to launch a new Risk Management solution to help our customers to manage their risk and compliance data in one place and efficiently implement recommendations that come out of incident investigations.

We are on a mission to reduce our carbon footprint and we’ve started this process by engaging with Positive Planet to measure current emissions.  We’ll be doing a bit more work in this area next year.

Q3 saw the formation of the ACMS Customer Working group, led by GWR and SWR.  The focus of the group is to collaboratively share, and sense check ideas, discuss common barriers with like-minded individuals and ensure we were aligned to industry standards.

We attended InnoTrans Berlin, the world’s biggest trade fair and met with some interesting companies as part of a DIT and RIA Trade Mission.

In November we had our biggest ever User Forum, with over 100 individuals from across the industry joining us to explore how we ‘Connect and Collaborate across the Railway Industry’.

Gabe and Alice also spent 3 weeks in New Zealand and Australia in early December on a DIT trade mission organisation by the RIA where they met lots of interesting companies exploring competence management to improve safety.  They finished their tour at AusRail in Brisbane.

And finally, a message from our COO, Sally Brinkley…

“We have invested a lot of time this year making our solutions more robust and ensuring they meet the needs of you, our customers.

“There has also been a big investment in our staff.  We are now a team of 30 and we’re still growing.  Inviting Hannah, Leanne and Rob to become Directors has helped strengthen the management team and provides the time for Gabe, Jools and myself to do some future planning.

“Our presence in Australia is growing daily.  It’s great to have so many advocates from the UK expat community shouting the praises of ACMS and AssessBook in the region and we hope to have a number of new customers joining us on the platforms in 2023.

“From all the team at AssessTech, we hope you have a wonderful festive break and we look forward to working with you in 2023”

Sally Brinkley, COO, AssessTech
