Grand Central saw an opportunity to improve its environmental impact by adopting electronic competence management through AssessTech’s ACMS platform.

Grand Central Rail is an open access TOC owned by Arriva UK Trains.  It has operated passenger rail services on the East Coast Main Line from Sunderland to London King’s Cross since December 2007, and from Bradford Interchange to London King’s Cross since May 2010.

Grand Central saw an opportunity to improve its environmental impact by adopting electronic competence management through AssessTech’s ACMS platform – removing the paper trail from the assessment process as well as the requirement to store bulky files.

Grand Central chose AssessTech as their electronic competence management provider, having spoken to several other TOCs, including partner company Cross Country. Having carried out in-depth research with their peers, they concluded ACMS was the best solution in the marketplace.

We are really looking forward to getting started with ACMS. The platform’s efficiencies will streamline the time required to monitor assessments. Giving staff the ability to manage and develop their own competence is a huge benefit.
