
We are delighted to announce that ex-Network Rail Operations Director Paul Sutherland has recently joined the Board of AssessTech as a non-executive director.
Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from his 37-year career working in the UK and overseas.
He has been working with the team in Australia to help develop a strategy to introduce electronic competence management and open doors with key connections in the region. He will be working closely with the senior management team in AssessTech to help guide the business forward over the next 12 months.
Paul started his career at British Rail. He worked his way through different positions in British Rail to the general manager for the Sussex Route, which he helped turn around in 18 months, to the top-performing route on the Network. Paul was Professional Head of Operations, Network Rail, where he was charged with delivering standards changes to the rail during the London Olympics. Paul was the Head of Transformation for Digital Railway before moving to Sydney in 2018, leading on making positive and achievable transformation across Australia. Paul returned to the UK in 2021 to retire, but because of his passion to make a difference, he’s taken a role working as a consultant 2 days a week, as well as working with the team at AssessTech.
He is really passionate about making a difference, has a wealth of knowledge working in railway operations and is driven by helping individuals develop and grow their own skills, confidence and knowledge. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Railway Operators and was a founding member and Chair of the Institute of Railway Operators in Australia from 2019-2021.
