AssessTech’s User Forums – What to Expect

The next AssessTech user forum will take place on 18 Sept in Woburn Conference Centre, London. We spoke to Naheem Manir of West Midland Trains to find out his thoughts on the forums.

Naheem Manir, West Midlands Trains

“The AssessTech user forums are an excellent platform to both meet with other operators from both heavy and light rail and to find out about the advancements in ACMS and Assessbook.  Often I encounter similar challenges to my peers in other TOCs so being able to talk these through and discuss potential solutions is worthwhile. I definitely learn from others who have been using the system longer than me and have encountered the same challenges, previously.

“The user forums are a great opportunity to discuss and develop best practice for the industry around electronic competence management.

“AssessTech also deliver a detailed analysis on enhancements to the platform as well as new features.  This gives us an understanding of what’s coming next and how we can embed these new elements into our competence management planning.  The team also encourage us to highlight areas of improvement, which create the development roadmap for ACMS and Assessbook.

“An external speaker/business is often invited to the forum to demonstrate new areas of training or safety.  This is an excellent way for the attendees to find out about new developments in the industry that could be applicable to our business.

“My key take-aways from the forums are:

  • A great opportunity to meet other Operators face to face and discuss industry challenges
  • Meeting new individuals within the network (both light and heavy rail)
  • Sharing ideas & experiences
  • Listening to find out what’s going on within the industry
  • Future plans for ACMS and Assessbook
  • Learning about new innovations from other suppliers in the industry.

“I really believe the AssessTech user forums are a great opportunity to discuss and develop best practice for the industry around electronic competence management.”
