2020, AssessTech’s year in review

2020….well what can we say?  Who would have predicted that we were entering a year of economic turmoil with one of the worst pandemics the world has ever seen.

Even with all the challenges that we faced in 2020, we have had a very busy year.

Some of our highlights have been:

  • Opening our new Guildford office
  • Launching our service in Australia
  • Moving all our training online and developing some new innovative tool kits
  • Launch of our new Rail Performance Consultancy Service
  • Expanding the team; and
  • Working with some new customers including Atalian Servest UK, National Express Germany, CrossCountry Trains, Eurostar, MTREL, Avanti, East Coast Trains Ltd. and South Western Railway (SWR).

We thought it would be fun at our end of year Company Meeting to look back along the timeline of this strange year, so that’s what we did…

AssessTech 2020 – A Year in Review

We had a busy start to the year implementing new systems for Eurostar, First Group and CrossCountry Trains.  The partnership deal we signed with accessplanit provided a fully integrated training management system to AssessBook.

As a result of the first UK lockdown, we quickly moved all our training online and we now have a full suite of online learning courses.

From April to May, we focused on supporting our customers in all aspects of competence management and online learning. We rolled out some new online SIO and TOLO training courses and developed new online training kits.  Hannah Washer joined us in the customer services team.

We also onboarded National Express Germany and took on Atalian and MTREL as new customers.

The highlight of the next few months was the opening of our NEW Guildford office.  We  also introduced staggered return for members of staff so we could maintain social distancing.

We acquired two new customers Avanti and East Coast Trains, appointed Alice Barrett into the customer services team and launched our Knowledge Base.

The last quarter of the year saw us launch our NEW Australian office and appoint Graham Force to lead our customer engagement in Australia and New Zealand.

SWR also joined us as a customer.

In the latter months of 2020 we became a Totara Alliance Partner, we launched a new DCP course which has been used by ScotRail and employed Patrick Sawkins into the Customer Operations team.

And finally, a message from Gabriel Stroud, CEO AssessTech…

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their business during 2020. It’s been a difficult year for everyone across the UK rail industry but what has been amazing is the resilience of the individuals we work with, who have used this period to ensure their systems, processes and people are informed and updated to achieve their overall goal of delivering a better railway.

“We hope you have a wonderful festive break and we’re looking forward to working together in 2021.”
